Dear Members of the German Bromeliad Society,

First of all, we wish all members a happy new year. Unfortunately, we have to start the year with some bad news. After consulting with the board, we were convinced that the 2025 issue would be published last year. Sadly, we were unable to achieve this, and therefore the next issue of "Die Bromelie" will be further delayed. We sincerely apologize to our members for this.

The editorial work of the journal is currently being handed over to Gerhard Alt and Johannes Novohradsky. They are working diligently to review the existing material and prepare it for printing. Manfred Speckmaier and Michael Barfuss are in regular contact with our new editors to support them in this process. However, Gerhard and Johannes need some time to familiarize themselves with the role.

As irksome and frustrating as the long wait for the 2025 issue may be, we, as the board, ask for your patience and time to allow our newly formed editorial team to complete this (not inconsiderable) task carefully.

We will keep you updated on further progress here.

Unfortunately, our original plans for our spring conference (Munich) fell through. We are currently in discussions regarding an alternative location in the southwest, which would then take place at the end of May or beginning of June. Following the actual spring conference, we plan to offer a workshop for all interested members to discuss the content and design of our often-criticized website, as well as ways to implement it. We hope to lay the groundwork for a revamped online presence with a manageable budget.

We will announce the exact date as soon as we have received confirmation.
